It’s another New Year’s Eve. Another year complete. Another set of holidays in the books. And I’m so glad to see it all go.
To say that 2025 has been less than wonderful would be a complete understatement. I battled a stomach issue for the majority of the year, followed by surgery to fix it…a surgery that should have had me right as rain! Did it? NO! I stayed sick for months! Then my aunt, Donna, went into the hospital for what felt like 7664987348 days, where I almost lost her! And while she was on the 6th floor, I ended up on the 1st floor for two weeks with kidney stones the size of Easter Island boulders! I still have yet to pass the three largest stones….heaven help me, dear baby Jesus! Thanksgiving brought this household the flu, followed by the worst head cold to ever exist! And let’s not even go into al the bullshit drama I don’t, and shouldn’t, have to deal with!

There have been lots of wonderful moments, no doubt! We had “fun” in the snow back at the first of the year. Abbie and I took a roadtrip to Buc-ee’s…most expensive tank of gas I have ever had lol! Abbie experienced Skyline Chili for the first time on that trip, and she is hooked! My newest granddaughter was born just 2 days after my birthday. She is the most adorable ray of sunshine EVER!! I hired my own boss, which was a first for me. I spent a ton of quality time bonding with my kiddos, laughing and just outright having fun. Billy and I went to Louder Than Life again! The girls and I looked at high schools because THAT happens in August…We had an amazing 3 full days of celebrating…Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and then my girls’ birthday!!! Callie and I had an amazing bonding moment, and I feel closer to her now than I ever have. Christian came over and spent a few hours with us for the girls’ birthday and we just enjoyed the together time.

So on this New Year’s Eve, as I sit on the couch feeling the right side kidney stone moving around, I’m ready to say goodbye to all the drama and chaos of 2025, and welcome 2026 with all of the joy and success it is going to bring me! Even with all the horrible things that have gone on in the last several weeks of this year, I’m claiming that 2026 is going to be a year that I win!l
I wish all of my friends and framily the most amazing of New Year’s celebrations and I pray that you win in 2026 right along with me!
Love you most,
Lacy
Oh, and to all my “unwelcome followers” out there…may you have the 2026 you deserve. Just remember what they say about karma! I’ll be waiting with my popcorn…
